The most in line with the tone of earlier Nasu works like Tsukihime or Garden of Sinners if it comes to Fate/Stay Night adaptations.
It’s dark, almost always night and heavy topics are handled right off the get go.
I love to see some characters get screen time like Mitsuzuri, whom I’ve always liked but unfortunately she isn’t an all that important character.
The animation is obviously insane, just like the score and they both are essential to the films great tonality but essentially only serve the story, which is way lore heavier then other adaptations of the visual novel.
I’m already looking forward to rewatching the other two films as I’ve noticed that I did forget some scenes and references which I didn’t catch the first time around, since I wasn’t as invested in the world of Fate and Nasu‘s work in general at the time of my first watch.

Going from unlimited blade works to heavens feel was definitely something i wasn’t ready for I didn’t really enjoy the first part all that much to the point where I was wondering how much more runtime is left and I didn’t like how the movie flowed it all felt so weird i think it’s got its interesting moments but most of my distaste is for watching this shortly after unlimited blade works I like how we get more rider screen time and more focus on sakura i could definitely tell she would be the love interest for this route

My buddy watched UBW at my behest, so now I'm making him watch these with me. Turns out I'm in a very Type-Moon time in my life (just finished KnK, reading Tsukihime, rewatching these).
Anyways, it rips. Always has, always will. Ufotable is a force to be reckoned with animation wise, these fights are just incredible. So much impact in the choreography & sound design. Incredible talent on display.
I truthfully never expected to be a Type-Moon fanboy but God damn. It never disappoints.
