Despite the cinematography being lowkey kinda ahh, I really can’t say I’ve ever seen a film quite like this. Coming in at a runtime of a whopping four hours, it somehow manages to cover so many themes and genres and parts that would be inappropriate or silly in any other movie feel right at home here. It is at once a 4 hour epic about a boner but also a religious reckoning, a love story, and an insight into Japanese perversion that really doesn’t waste a minute of its runtime and left me both satisfied with Yu and Yoko’s resolution, but yearning to stay a little while longer. Also features one of the hardest needle drops of Beethoven’s 7th Symphony
