Good movie, though not what I was looking for. The name "the Curse of the Cat People" really hypes up what is ultimately a family Christmas movie as a ghostly horror. Yes, her imaginary friend is her father's dead ex-wife, but she's rather amiable & even saves Amy's life. Disappointing lack of evil cat people. Barbara wasn't even an scheming imposter, her mother just had dementia. Perhaps I'll rewatch again when 'tis the season.

VERY much my shit. She befriends a reclusive actress and sees the OG cat person?! That’s a resounding hell yes from me! This sounds insane, but this just felt like a movie I would make if I made movies or was even interesting in doing that.
I had imaginary friends until I was 8, my imagination was massive as a child and got me into a lot of trouble in my very young years. I love what this movie says about imagination and about how our parents unresolved issues really do cascade down to the their children. The sins of a father….
Eerie because I looked so much like the little girl that plays Amy, I felt like I was watching little me which was just bizarre.
Is it a little boring? I guess?? Idk I was riveted the entire time and really tried to not view this as a sequel but as its own entity.
Just the story of a little girl with an exceptional sense of self that found ways to exhibit her true self despite others trying to change her.
And it’s a winter movie!! Ugh, just the best.
