James Houghland, inventor of a new method by which television signals can be instantaneously sent anywhere in the world, refuses to sell the process to television companies, who then send agents to acquire the invention any way they can. On the night of his initial broadcast Houghland is mysteriously murdered in the middle of his demonstration and it falls to Police Chief Nelson to determine who the murderer is from the many suspects present.

Any good murder mystery needs interesting characters. This movie does not have interesting characters. Do we see the problem here or do you need a visit from Bela Lugosi?

Murder by Television
Not even the great Bela Lugosi can make this Poverty Row murder mystery story the faintest bit of interesting. The only interesting aspect here is seeing the fascination of television as a new technology, the idea that we could see what’s going on in London - across the ocean, on the screen - only a speculation of future technology. Aside from that, a very dull story.

slow pacing for a 50 minute film is crazy, bad acting and a stupid plot. I think the only positive thing here is Bela Lugosi, and calling his acting in this a good thing is a big stretch, they're all just saying lines. Would not recommend this. Bela I'm disappointed that you said yes to this. One good thing is that I found the racism quite funny, BURN ME THEN! 1/5
