this is just such a terrible film, to the point where it comes enjoyable (kinda?)
this is an unnecessary sequel, cabin fever was a great standalone film which really didn’t need a sequel, but i’m honestly just happy it exists. it almost feels like a different franchise than the original, and it gives us something completely fresh, which i enjoy as it’s not just the same story and the same setting just rehashed. the water gets contaminated by a guy who is infested with the virus, and water bottles are now highly contaminated. this is a really simplistic plot, but also really effective. the characters in this are just generally not likeable, the main character gives me major incel vibes, his bestie is better but still annoying, the best characters are probably cassie and the cop, but even then there’s no strong characters of the film, the main characters was just awful, definitely one of the worst aspects of the film, glad he dies tbh.. this film doesn’t have much of a plot, apart from a bunch of college kids vomiting blood while at prom, and oh was that fun. prom styled horrors are hit or miss, the concept is really good but the execution is usually terrible, but in this case it really works, the school building is completely confined and locked from the outside world as people grow loads of puss filled blisters while spewing up loads of velvety vomit. this film is just a blood bath, maybe the reason why it has such a high score for me, when the incel cuts his hand off with a saw and burns it that was just entertaining, while unrealistic but who cares. this is just a fun low budget horror flick which is surprisingly original and is a good time, no matter what anyone says.
