I recently bought the 4K Blu-Ray of this film because I've been wanting to watch it again. Now I did and I can say it's still amazing. My key takeaway from this film is that to defend a society from evil, the society mustn't lay in silence, but to fight back hard; A great message that came during the age of McCarthyism, where Senator Joseph McCarthy waged a war on many entities including Hollywood, labelling them full of communists and most times without proof, and ruining the lives of good men and women all for the sake of building up fear in the United States and for getting his name on the headlines. This film tells us to not be silent against those who stow fear in our country, as staying silent is letting them win. John Wayne called this the most un-American film there is, well if that isn't American, then I wouldn't want to be one.
