From Mona Lisa to Brigitte Bardot, artistic representation and perception of women is often shaped by traditional role models. In tongue-in-cheek fashion, director May Spils unmasks these dyed-in-the-wool structures and plays a young woman who can only fail in her attempt to paint a self-portrait.

I really enjoyed this short. I think the sound design was hilarious and very interesting unless it came with no sound like the version of The General I watched and they added it. As well as very important information about the art world said it reminds me of the echo chamber artists repeat from that one play where he said “one can’t discuss pollock without reading it (birth of a tragedy) one can’t discuss anything without reading it”. Simple that you need to be civilized and have a wide array of knowledge and understanding into multiple pop culture and references to visual aesthetics with true meaning and effort to be a real artist. So important to the art world told in a very comical Godard-esque way I love the way this film was shot and edited it was beautiful.
