Annette Bening gives a STELLAR performance in an otherwise disappointing Neil Jordan joint. If the film’s horribly depressing subject matter doesn’t give you nightmares, Stephen Rea’s New York Jew accent certainly will!
HOWEVER. the kid they cast to play young RDJ was PERFECT and the way they lit and framed his scenes was so well done that me and my boyfriend both thought it was really him for like twenty minutes.
anyway 2.5 stars for Annette and .5 for that casting decision🥳
