Kinda just boring and generic. Why is this in the criterion collection?

Sub-90-minute movies usually fly by but even at a brisk 77 minutes, this grinds along. There are some cool parts here and there but they’re quite few and far between. The monster design was kinda cool even if only used sparingly until the last 20-or-so minutes. I also liked all the space shots. There’s something about how flying planes look in old movies that I love (e.g. Dr. Strangelove). Interesting take on man v. science - and an early one at that - but other than that, there’s not much here.

This movie was actually really fun! I enjoyed this a lot but, some parts were a bit dry.
You know i love 50’s sci fi
Whoever put together the mask that dan wore, did a very good job. I liked the way his distorted face looked
