To me this is what cinema's all about. Huge stylized sets, fantasy, adventure, romance, monsters, oh my! Pure spectacle and no fluff, a masterpiece of the highest order, and so FUN!

Over a century old and it somehow ends up feeling just as magnetic as it was when it came out. I could praise this movie on and on, but seriously, just experience it by yourself, on the largest screen you can find.

No doubt one of the most impressive looking films of the silent era, with grand sets and inventive special effects. Fairbanks oozes charisma everytime he's on the screen. The main detriment of the film, besides the obvious brownface and exoticism and so on, is that it's two and a half hour runtime is tremendously long for a silent, so it is quite a slog at times.
