When the noir elements kicked in, I locked in. The whole film is rather clever and carries that Coen Bros. charm. John Goodman is excellent and reminded me of someone I know to an uncanny degree (minus the one thing, of course). Barton just annoyed my, though. I have enough trouble writing as it is, so John Turturo isn’t showing me anything new. But I was also 20 minutes late to the screening, so I’ll assume the missing piece was somewhere in there and call it even.
