A ooky spooky ghost story with College professor Cage and art designer Lori form the Walking Dead as parents whose pirate costumed child goes missing on Halloween, just after his mysterious utterance of the titular:
‘Pay the Ghost’
After a year of grief, Pirate kid again begins to haunt the now separated duo’s dreams as they start to uncover a potentially supernatural element to his disappearance.
This was fine, one of those witch gets wronged so she comes back to mess with the townsfolk by stealing kids kind of deals, except in this case the town is NYC so it’s take a really long time for anyone to notice the pattern. It has some decent jump scares and I gotta admit a couple of em did get me while I was on the treadmill.
It’s a mostly low key Cage as distraught parent in this, but he does giving a nice OTT reading of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe in a scene where he teaches a classroom.
