National Theatre Live: A Streetcar Named Desire
a true hate letter to a streetcar named desire. fails on all dimensions a production might want to be successful in pertaining to the art of theater. between the four actors and characters, there is not even a hint of tension nor development. it is one note on all fronts, for three hours straight. the stage production is confusing and the accent work is honestly plain embarrassing.

and the camera work. genuinely what was going through their minds when they wanted to do this nonsensical camera blocking? it doesn't signify anything, even deliberately blocks out the cinema audience's vision.

it's not like the original play is easily digestible, it is meant to be a suffocating hot summer night even when handled with the most careful hands but this mediocre and sloppy production truly made it insufferable beyond human comprehension.
