I didn’t like the ending at all. I loved Emily, she was so sweet and pretty. The ending felt really rushed and unsatisfying—though not all endings have to be happy, this one wasn't just not happy but it was also bad.

I really liked the atmosphere and mood, how gothic it was for no reason. Also it weirdly wasn’t boring; I assumed it was gonna be a long watch but no I enjoyed it.

I actually had a better time with this one than I expected. Ray Milland is no Vincent Price, but his more somber and mournful tone fits this movie far better than Price's more gleeful approach. The horror of the original story is captured quite well here, and shockingly it isn't poorly stuffed to bulk up the runtime like some of these other Corman-Poe films. Overall, some damn fine Gothic horror.
