As you probably know, my favorite kinds of films to watch are survival films. I vaguely remember when this happened, so I was curious to see if the film adaptation would be any good.
I think this film should get the Alive/Society of the Snow treatment. I would’ve preferred the story to be done by non American filmmakers. I also would’ve preferred if this film focused primarily on the survivors, and not also their families and the government. The screenplay could’ve been a lot better, too. And while I was very happy to see Antonio Banderas, Juliette Binoche and Gabriel Byrne were very odd casting choices.
The 33 men deserve a much better film than this.
