I like Deadpool as a character and I find the films entertaining and funny but sometimes it’s just way over the top with the jokes it kind of loses its comedy. I’d say about half the jokes actually land in this one while quite a few are pretty serious misses. Ryan Reynolds is perfect as Deadpool and I’d say the majority of the cast is solid. Pet peeve, I hate 4th wall breaks and Deadpool films are known for that, I’m fine with them poking fun at actors and companies, that type of 4th wall break but I can’t stand when a character talks to the watcher, that shit sucks. It’s always put a sour taste in my mouth with these films, if it didn’t have those, this film would’ve been higher. I also felt that at some points the jokes could be dialed down for a more serous moment but they fucked that over every time. It’s solid but has elements of stuff in it that I absolutely hate, I will admit that it is very rewatchabe, I will for sure rewatch.
