WHAT IS THAT ENDING?!?! Also, Joan Crawford’s eyebrows are vicious in this film.
The promotional posters for Strait-Jacket were not lying when they gave a warning for brutal portrayals of ax murders. 60’s horror films will always be interesting to me because it feels like they were testing the waters of what was and wasn’t okay to show. We have Psycho to thank for that, which isn’t the only link this film has with Psycho, as the writer of this film, Robert Bloch, wrote the novel that Hitchcock’s film is based on. Also, I loved that final Columbia title card with her head removed and lying at her feet. A fun little touch to a brutal 60’s slasher.
