I finally finished the of the dead series wooooo!
This one is better than Diary of the Dead, but not by much I’ll be honest. The practical effects greatly outshine the CGI ones. The characters had some random motivations that did not make sense. Also Rodrick Heffley was also in this one?? This movie is a trip. However, I did like the feud between the two families on the island; both in terms of their moral dilemma and the actual fight scenes. That in and of itself carried the whole movie for me. I will probably never watch it again despite it being George A. Romeo’s last work. RIP zombie king.
I am glad I finished all of his movies even though some of them took me several attempts. It is cool to see how concepts start and change over time. While I appreciate Romero’s abilities to come up with new social commentary every time and try to make something new, it definitely makes me appreciate the first three over the last three.
