unfortunately quite mid and also i was really sleepy the whole time. it's very interesting to see some of his favorite themes before they actually became fleshed (geddit) out, but overall the movie is a pretty basic zombie invasion flick with some nice cheating metaphors. robert a silverman cameo who else cheered... imagine being in a hospital lobby and a nurse comes in screaming "HE'S KILLING EVERYONE" like what do i even do then. just accept it at that point. also climactic final scene hinges on a man going to get his mail in the midst of martial law in montreal

It's weird, uncomfortable, sexual just how I like it! I'll always appreciate David Cronenbergs use of disgusting holes like yes girl show off that armpit pussy! Reminded me of Re-Animator especially when the zombie shenanigans popped off, Rose is like Herbert West expect Herbert West is completely self aware.
