this piece is chaotic & doesn’t provide much context for various scenes. the acting is comedic at times & so are the protagonist’s “mysterious” and extended walking scenes around the city. however, i rate it 3 stars for the underlying tones of this character’s psyche. its visual oxymoron is made clear, specifically in the scene with the corpse taking his picture. he mentions in the beginning that “the camera never lies” when asked why he is into photography. when the corpse takes his picture, he is deranged & yells out of, what i assume, disgust of his own nature. it’s as if he pushes his own self hatred towards fueling his perverted, sadistic tendencies. i went into this thinking i’d rate it 1-2 stars, but i appreciate the director’s process of showing how trauma & experience can shape a person inevitably despite me having to interpret multiple scenes on my own.

A pretty hateful film that is often criticised for seemingly being highly misogynistic - which it is. Asides from this, the kills are graphic and pretty good, unfortunately however that’s about it. The dialog is bad as is pretty much everything else. The fact most of the cast don’t like it speaks volumes really.
