Honestly just ok. It’s pretty much a movie to raise awareness about war veterans PTSD, which is actually a really good cause to make a movie. I liked it, but compared to his other movies it was ok. Also i promise i have a life outside of movies i’ve been watching these more separated just didn’t have time to review.
Plot (7.4/10)
Basically what i said at the beginning. A war veteran is in counseling because of 1 thing he messed up on (which i won’t say for spoiler reasons) so he’s had PTSD ever since and can’t get over it. Then starts losing his mind in a way, becomes sort of heartless, then towards the end gets to the realization that he misses his wife and kids so looks for them because the world isn’t the same anymore and thinks they are dead. Pretty cool idea but thought it could have been executed better.
Characters/Acting (9.1/10)
Honestly acting wise i thought it was phenomenal. Shia obviously great as usual, the emotion control and the fear in his eyes was insane. I don’t remember her name in real life but whoever played his wife was also an excellent choice for her role, very good emotionally.
Style/Filming (7.4/10)
A bit on the basic side, not that that’s bad but wasn’t that interesting to me. Coloring was just bland but i think that’s what they were going for. because of the dull feeling that he is supposed to be feeling because of what happened. Just didn’t find it that entertaining.
My Thoughts
Honestly kinda of mid besides the emotional scenes. The only thing saving this movie is all of the emotional scenes with shia about what happened. Sounds very dark but it was the most interesting to me. The movie itself was just ok, shia did well acting wise and so did his wife there just wasn’t enough depth for my liking.
