While I did find this one often slow, that may also be due to my expectation that this was more of a sci-fi/horror than it actually was. This is more of a story of macabre psychosexual themes over anything else, and when the film is focused on those themes is when it's at its strongest. A rewatch with proper expectations would probably help. Anyway, the film looks great and I'm grateful for Deaf Crocodile releasing this, if they keep doing silents I'll keep buying them. Though there's a couple moments where I'm yelling at the screen to stop breaking the 180° rule, but that's the silent era for you. Brigitte Helm and her facial expressions are thrilling as ever to watch, and Paul Wegener is certainly doing his Paul Wegener-est as usual.
