This is three different Friedkin movies all rolled into one and somehow two of them were released after this.

Way more buddy cop procedural than I expected going into it but still a fun neo-noir flick that maybe could have been tightened up just a little bit in the middle. Matthau and Dern are a great combo as partners in such a hilarious way.
