It's always a shame when a studio takes away a director's creative freedom. While Schrader isn't my favorite, I have no doubts this would've turned out better with his hand guiding the post production. In this end product, it's messy to say the least.
Cage is strangely docile much of the time, arousing himself periodically in his cheesy direct to video style. Yelchin was excellent in a supporting role. The ending was so chopped up it was almost incomprehensible, just a shame.
