I remember watching this when I was super small, but I couldn’t appreciate it as much.
Gena Rowlands is a walking masterclass in performance. I took ALL the notes and will be watching AGAIN. John Cassavetes, I’m stunned. I wasn’t even watching acting, I was truly watching a documentary. Too good. 10/10 !!!

A Woman Under the Influence (1974)

A brilliant character study from John Cassavetes and one of the all time greatest performances by Gena Rowlands.

The performances from everyone are honest, raw and powerful it makes u believe the woman is actually mentally unstable and this isnt an actual film.

Unlike other directors where they rely on deaths and extreme circumstances to end a movie John does something different. With silence at the end he tells everything that is about to come. Survival and Acceptance.
