I’m not sure if this is either a 4.5 or 5 star film.
However, this film is a must-watch. This is my first obayashi film, but judging from the ratings I’d say this is one of his underrated films. Everything about this film was beautiful. From the way it makes you feel, the way it shows the beauty of New Caledonia and the way the characters grow. Such a simple story, told in such a beautiful way.
