An absolutely sensational 60s spy thriller, with intoxicating colours and a psychedelic style. This is such an extraordinary unique piece of work it’s almost indescribable in its design. The story and ideas are pretty simple, but the execution and all round spectacle is just so wacky and fun that it makes for such a magical experience. The film follows a suavely extravagant criminal, he’s infamous to the restless police and seemingly impossible to capture. He’s the classic villain; fast cars, a flashy girlfriend, a futuristic secret lair, an endless possibilities of gadgets and some pretty extreme facial expressions (mostly to do with the eyebrows). The action in this film is very enjoyable, very comic-esque in the stature and style and almost pulp film like. Obviously the film is visually dazzling, with beautiful pops of colour and some fantastic visual effects, some of the scenes could’ve been set on an alien planet and I wouldn’t have suspected a thing, full of brilliance that sits on the line between glamorous absurdity and theatrical tackiness.

This movie has like 45 minutes of day for night scenes. My least favorite thing ever. Will need to rewatch with more stringent tv settings
