went from a swell dweller to a crime lord without the use of connections, pure wit,kindness and intellect. the absolute BEST crime story ive ever seen and with great acting, music this is probably one of my favorite crime movies ive seen. 5/5.

Neenga nallavara? Kettavara?

This is the result of two of tamil cinema’s greatest minds working together. Brilliantly written, beautifully acted, stunningly shot. Kamal Haasan says so much without using his words, so beautiful to watch, perfectly captures a conflicted man. Every scene was brimming with emotion. A performance so immersive, it was almost like I was right there with Velu Naicker from start to finish

Apart from a few choppy scene transitions, this holds up so well today. Desperately need tamil cinema to get back to this level
