I would say that the neon demon isn't Refn's best work but it definitely isn't bad, it just depends on the viewer. I, myself, liked this movie more than I thought I would. It depicts the lengths people would go to just to be seen as "beautiful" pretty well (people don't go around eating eachother but still, it is a fantasy of some sort). It makes me sad that this is the reality that we live in , but sadly beauty standards have been here for centuries and aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
Elle Fanning was a good choice for this role, she really is like the sun in the middle of winter.(she is absolutely gorgeous and cute , I can't 🥲)
