One of the best redemption stories I’ve seen.
The emotional impact of the story was heavy, the story just has a level of raw reality in it that I wasn’t expecting coming in. I was expecting a straight boxing movie but it’s so much more.
His whole life fell apart, and the only thing that kept him together was fighting to get his daughter back. Seeing his growth into the end of the film was just amazing.
This movie exceeded all my expectations. I love boxing and at first when I was seeing the boxing in the opening scene I was skeptical, but as the film went on it got better, and I also realized pretty fast this wasn’t about the boxing.
