A quiet film, I like the soundtrack. Don’t have anything to complain about

Another entry in the 'Depressed Bill Murray Cinematic Universe' (DBMCU).In a way, this is the spiritual successor to 'Lost in Translation' in terms of an older, depressed Bill Murray exploring his life. It took a bit to get used to Jim Jarmusch's slower style of pacing, which he incorporated into this movie, but once Don hit the road, this became a fairly interesting character study. The dry humor in this worked well for me, and the ex-girlfriends play off Don in unique ways. The cast as a whole was solid, with Sharon Stone, Frances Conroy, Jessica Lange, and Tilda Swinton, while having brief parts, were fun characters to watch. The other supporting cast members, like Jeffrey Wright, Chloe Sevigny, and Christopher McDonald, were also great bit characters. At the center of all that is a fantastic performance by Bill Murray; definitely one of his best. He perfectly plays this dour character with a keen sense of dryness. Jarmusch can weave awkward comedy and utterly depressing and soul-sucking environments together seamlessly. There are geninely laugh out loud moments, and other parts that made me extremely uncomfortable, in a good way. The way he shot this too amplified those feelings, using beautiful compositions to convey a character's feeling, particularly Don's loneliness. I need to sit on that ending, but otherwise, this is a solid movie, and if you're a Bill Murray fan, definitely have this on your radar.
