“I got frightened. A strange guy tried to follow me all the way home!”
woo-hoo~ time to watching
Sergio Martino’s giallo again! he turns horror into something almost sensual, unsettling yet impossible to look away from. well it’s not just a giallo, but it’s a fever dream of grief, obsession, and rebirth
Jane Harrison (played by
Edwige Fenech) is haunted by a past tragedy— the loss of her mother at age 5 and her unborn child in a car accident that left her scarred both physically and mentally. living in London with her boyfriend Richard (played by
George Hilton), she’s plagued by recurring nightmares of a man with piercing blue eyes who stalks her through empty hallways and shadowy dreams. desperate for help, Jane seeks therapy, but her paranoia only deepens as her nightmares begin to spill into her waking life
and when she meets her neighbor Mary, Jane is introduced to a mysterious cult that promises healing through occult rituals, then brought her into a world of hypnotic visions, sexual tension, and supernatural terror where nothing is certain, not even her own sanity
in my opinion, what makes this movie so unforgettable is how it dares to be both terrifying and intimate.
Martino doesn’t just give us horror only, but he gives us emotion in decay and being trapped inside our mind where it feels like another illusion 🪞🩸
