É incrível o quanto esse filme mostra a evolução do Mojica, é MUITO bom e genial se comparado a outros filmes da mesma época. Apenas José Mojica teria o culhão e o talento para fazer essa obra prima!!!

muito melhor que o primeiro, entregando muito mais conteúdo, aqui vemos uma exploração melhor na mentalidade de Zé do Caixão, o filme todo gira em torno dele querer um filho perfeito com a mulher perfeita, e o Mojica usa muito bem esses conceitos para criar uma filosofia por trás do próprio personagem. e o filme também explora um conflito religioso bem interessante, também criando filosofias sobre isso.
e o filme também evoluiu muito no aspecto terror do anterior, como o orçamento é maior, o Mojica pode incluir muito mais elementos do gênero (animais perigosos, monstros, demônios) e deixou o filme com uma estética maravilhosa, praticamente gótico, similar a Frankenstein por exemplo.
é fácil o melhor filme de terror brasileiro, e uma prova de que nós podemos fazer um cinema variado e genial, José Mojica era gênio!
e a cena da visão do inferno... meu Deus, que coisa bizarramente linda.

O Mojica era o GOAT, não tem como

Day 53, movie 58/100 from the summer film challenge. 

Eventough I’ve seen only 2 films of the Coffin Joe Franchise so far, I can already tell this franchise is so extremely underrated. Part one (at midnight I’ll take your soul) already ended up as one of my favorite, if not favorite horror films of all time, and even tho this film didn’t completely live up to the other one, it’s still up there with some of the best horror films ever made. 

You can definitely see a big improvement from At Midnight I’ll take your soul; in terms of: cinematography, world building etc. A huge increase in the budget you could say. These increases in quality were really great, but I still prefer the first part. I think it’s because it’s all very mysterious and minimalistic, you get this very creepy atmosphere. Now after being a bit used to Zé’s brutality and the amazing story this director creates I wasn’t as amazed by part 2. I must say that I caught me by suprise that it still managed to create a whole unique new story, eventough its a straight copy from part 1.
