Part heist movie, part surveillance drama. Even though it was a few years earlier, I feel like Dog Day Afternoon did the heist better (also directed by and written by Pierson) and The Conversation did the analogue spying better. The cross cutting to the security footage and the cops constantly really killed the pacing, and the score while experimental, was quite distracting. The heist was head ass, even more so than the Brink Job. I don’t know how anyone thought they would get away clean. Some good performances, but felt like a lower tier Lumet movie.
