this movie filled me with a kind of rage, frustration and sadness that i cannot verbalise right now

Despite being a healthcare virgin (barely a medstudent), even the blink that i spent in the hospital, eerily accurate. Down to the mistreatment of lower medical personnel to the absolute dogshit treatment of critically ill/not ill patients, the stigmatisation and lets not forget the doctors’ ego. Gut wrenchingly accurate and frustrating, amazing.

a sad, grim reality of the bureaucratic and flawed romanian health system 20 years ago (though id like to think it changed since, i wouldn’t know) but very closely similar to the one in moldova too. i couldn’t help but feel so deeply irritated at the sarcastic, nagging, lecturing tone of every single one of these doctors but also, it’s so us. i feel like ive heard this conversations a million times. i feel like ive been addressed these words before, not just during my very short, very brief stay in intensive care at the hospital, but also in every single government facility where you will be getting condescending looks at if you don’t know all the procedures. 

 i had no idea this was based on a true story which makes me even more sad and upset. this movie is considered the start, the birth, the father of romanian new wave and i understand why. it’s satiric, it has its silly moments but underneath, it’s just the sad reality of people from spaces like this. once again had the chance of seeing this on the big screen and we had a very short conversation with one of the actors
