The coolest parts of this movie are when the environment is felt, the constant squeaking floor boards, characters awkwardly stepping over wagon track in the street, even the looming Tetons in the background, the little moments. but ultimately the climax and pacing of this puts it off for me.

Shane is one of those Westerns where you can really feel the magic of not only the environment, but also how the West couldnt be adapted to. Its my grandfather's favourite movie and I don't blame him.

Now this is one hell of a western. It's not my favorite western. That title fully belongs to the good, the bad and the ugly but shane definitely hits one of the top spots.
Shane follows a gunfighter as he tries to make a peaceful life working for a homesteaders family when a big business mam seeks too get back the land he must choose peace or protect the people he has come to love.
Alan Ladd is great as the titular Shane. His character is the most and the best part of the movie. Seeing him try to live a peaceful life but when the tragedy strikes in the end hits deep. The family and their struggle is done perfectly too.
Each performance is great and the movie is shot wonderfully. The movie looks beautiful. The gunfight in the end is fantastic too.
The music is pretty good too. The soundtrack is easy to listen to and conveys the story well too.
Shane is just a great western with a awesome character with Shane. It has good performances and better music. It's just a hidden gem of the genre.
