Genuinely one of the most inspiring films I've ever seen. Pure character study of some of the strangest and most charming characters put to screen. I want to live in the the world of this film and spend days and weeks with these characters. Genuinely had to pause this film at least 15 times with Owen and had to talk about how fucking BRILLIANT the performance choices are. Incredible amounts of SPECIFICITY at every moment to make these characters feel alive. While the structure of this film isn't clear the characters are so GOD DAMN interesting and funny it just makes up for any structural issues. It's pure storytelling, just people in a space living their lives and it's so beautiful.
This is such a devastating film. Somehow a film about a larping cowboy trying to hustle himself across New York living with a broke strange little new yorker is a more accurate depiction of life than 99 percent of films in cinema nowadays.
