Dr Simon Helder, sentenced to an insane asylum for crimes against humanity, recognises its director as the brilliant Baron Frankenstein, the man whose work he had been trying to emulate before his imprisonment. Frankenstein utilises Helder's medical knowledge for a project he has been working on for some time. He is assembling a man from vital organs extracted from various inmates in the asylum. And the Baron will resort to murder to acquire the perfect specimens for his most ambitious project ever.

Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell
The visual appeal and performances are here, but in a way I’m glad this was the last Hammer Frankenstein film, they definitely had ran out of things to say, Cushing is masterful as usual, but the film barely did enough for me to care, it’s a shame

Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell
The final film in the hammer series and it ends on a high note, I really liked everything about this, it’s setting especially, having the baron exploit his position of power as a doctor of a asylum was a really cool idea. I liked how confined it all felt especially in the finale, there’s no where to run when the monster inevitably breaks loose. It really leaned into the body horror in this and I enjoyed that. Overall a really good film.
