He’s faced crazed scientists.
He’s faced hunchbacked assistants.
He’s faced a whole damn pitch fork waving, torch bearing village.
He’s even faced Abbott and Costello!
But this time ol’ Frankie baby meets his most formidable match ever!
Alvin and the Chipmunks?!?
In 1958 Ross Bagdasarian sped up the sound of his own voice, found that it kinda sounded like a chipmunk and the rest is music and later cartoon history!
Over their 60 year career the boys had a number of hit turns including The Chipmunk Song, Alvin for President and Lonely. Wait that was Akon.
In 80s and 90s Bagdasarian’s son took the reins and we got a long running animated tv series and a trio of Universal straight to video animations.
Here we find Alvin, Simon and Theodore doing a musical act at a Disney style theme park, who are freaked out when the Park Manager recruits Doc Frankenstein (and his creature) to spice up the haunted castle attraction.
The animation ain’t much to write home about (the roller coaster gag where the chimpmunks resort to earlier animated incarnations is a rate exception) and while Chimpunk cover songs had a certain novelty, their original numbers here are total sheizenhausen.
