“…but this village is very lucky in its misery, as its one that is peaceful.”
watched for francafrique history class
i’m always surprised when i see filmmakers from such a dirty time/place in history have sentiments “progressive” enough to hold up to today (“progressive” simply just meaning anti-colonial…but hey…)
prof said something about the hand-crank camera and it explaining why all the shots are so short. hes crazy to be able to create such a sense of tempo and tension with shots that are all effectively the same length. like putting pictures to a poem
MAN FUCK FRANCE!
