“I was imprisoned once for trusting people - well, I won't do it again”This would probably be even better if I was Serbian. Trauma-based comedy that doubles as a sharp satire on ideology and its impact on people might just be one of my favorite things in film. Yugoslavian cinema is truly top-tier, and this film is a perfect example; hilarious, incisive, and brilliantly directed. The atmosphere captures the essence of a specific time and place so vividly, and the pacing is impeccable, all wrapped up in an incredibly entertaining plot. I suppose some of the references get lost on me, but it’s still fucking great.
Overall, Love films like these. Love Serbia as well, been there two times now and I’m going back next summer. Lovely film highly recommended.
