When I say I want musical film that is gut-wrenching, I meant it like this film. Starting off with everything in Matsuko’s life, its truly tragic — it saddens me how she’s wrongly blamed, disowned by her family, abandoned by her various lovers, and died tragically by kids beating her to her death. In memories of Matsuko, she somehow taught me something, that regardless of everything which had happened in her life, she didn’t give up and even at the end of her life, she still try to grab on that hope in turning her life back into becoming better than it was. It is more gut-wrenching knowing in the end of Kumi’s life, she truly yearns and hope Matsuko would come back home.
No one deserves Matsuko, whom she whole heartedly love and forgive the wrongdoings of her surrounding. I mostly loathe the men that have being in intimate relationship with her — sure Matsuko may have been too dependent and clingy, but she doesn’t give up on you like AAAA, I hate them so much for how they treated Matsuko.
In whole honesty, this film really makes me cry a lot, to which I didn’t expect. I really love this film, it is whimsical yet poetic, beautiful yet tragic, hilarious yet gut-wrenching to very core of your soul.
I truly don’t think Matsuko’s life is near meaningless, I think she live her life with an hope and kindness to the world. oh Matsuko, maybe in this life you didn’t had the fairytale you always of but perhaps, far away in the abyss of galaxies, there you will see that your life is the fairytale you’ve always dreamed for.
