“If a guy can’t blow up his best friend where’s the morality in the world?”Tom and Sonny change career paths!
friends to lovers to enemies who are doomed to kill each other makes me want to CHEW OFF MY OWN FOOT OH MY GOD!!!
this was insane insane!! first 15 minutes had me giggling and kicking my feet. INSANE gay behavior, off the charts kind of stuff. Such great chemistry I wish James Caan and Robert Duvall had it in their contract to work together on every film. anyways back to it. George not being able to kill Mike?? crazy! the whole party scene? wild! the roommate conversation? just bonkers!
can’t write this review without saying this, Bo Hopkins character was GREAT! loved that guy.
And THANK YOU Sam Peckinpath for putting james caan tight tight suits and keeping him shirtless for a third of this. Speaking of Peckinpath, a LOT of his movies revolve around 2 guys who were once besties becoming enemies and killing each other. So I wonder what the lore is there!
(a lil spoilers here but nothing crazy at all so didn’t want to tag but here’s a warning in case you want to go in super blind)this was originally going to be a 4.5 but the reconciliation scene really just left me disappointed especially cause it felt like the whole film was leading up to them seeing each other again. and then it was over in like a second and mike barely reacted. like why make the plot summary be about him getting revenge and then having it over in a flash? really kind of soured the whole thing for me. and it was never brought up again! and don’t get me started on the final fight scene. HORRIBLY mishandled. idk what happened with the directing here. just not enjoyable to watch at all. can’t begin to describe it other than as “a mess.”
anyways that’s all i have. “i can feel him” wild wild behavior. welcome back vincent hanna.
