Definitely a bit torn by this one, I had heard so much about it that inevitably I was a little disappointed after watching it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a good movie but I don’t see why it is so hyped up as it is even though it is a beautifully shot movie. The expectations were a bit too high for it. Onto the review, The story was superb, the characters were intricate and intriguing though I do feel like some characters were not really needed. The main killer was the pacing, it is a slow burner, and through that slow burn it does build some tension but it may lose some peoples interest at the same time. I didn’t see a whole lot of emotion in the characters which made them feel a little flat but the character development overall was good, I really liked the dynamic of both despising and sympathizing with Mr. Lyndon. The sets were both immaculate and beautiful. It is a Beautifully shot movie. The score is iconic, I had heard it before yet never knew it was from this. A few parts boredom did set in, it felt like the same scenes were being repeated especially in the second act. I’d probably watch again.
