Quite enjoyed this. It's definitely a strange film in a lot of ways that blends a lot of random influences, especially film noir, complete with a femme fatale and occasionally beautiful, shadowy cinematography. At other times, it's incredibly silly (wtf is up with that bat puppet??)
The formula is shaken up juuust enough to keep it interesting
Lon Chaney Jr is no Bela Lugosi, his take is a lot more cold and unpleasant, instead of slick and charming
