Perhaps my hottest take. But I think this is a work of genius. Deeply malevolent in a realistic, inexplicable and unavoidable way. Just ignore the two ridiculous aspects of 1) the haunted electricity never being explained and 2) their house having a key lock on the inside of the door. But the creeping horror, ambiguous evil and beautiful cinematography makes this something… wild. A mature drama/horror that seems to want to say something about technology and family and paranoia but doesn’t really care to. Because it’s more concerned with its vibe. And that vibe is fucking metal

Kinda surprised at how well this one holds up. It's a good starter film for kids who are interested in horror too. I do like how what is happening is never really explained, it just IS. Good flick from my youth that I'm glad to say I still enjoy.
