Rosemary’s Baby-sitter. An evil witchy woman gathers babies for sentient trees. Very Wizard of Oz in that sense. It felt like a very B movie which isn’t bad, but not what I was expecting from Exorcist Director Freidkin. This centers around a family with a new born and nanny. The rest is pretty generic and no twists or turns at all. I wish there was something more to it, felt very surface level and not scary at all.

Just found out recently that Sam Raimi was originally supposed to write and direct this movie. I would guess the final battle was his idea that they kept (trees, chainsaw, come on totally screams Raimi)

I can't quite say I expected even one tiny bit of what this would end up being but dear god this was insanely fun and exactly like how you'd imagine a Friedkin movie that was originally supposed to be directed by Raimi would end up.
