When one of his patients is found murdered, psychiatrist Dr. Sam Rice is visited by the investigating officer but refuses to give up any information. He's then visited by the patient's mistress, Brooke Reynolds, whom he quickly falls for despite her being a likely murder suspect. As the police pressure on him intensifies, Rice decides to attempt solving the case on his own and soon discovers that someone is trying to kill him as well.

Knocking out watchlist stuff and turns out I started watching this at some point and didn’t finish. On a fresh watch, this is a classy thriller with a pretty cool dream sequence that’s otherwise maybe a little too staid to stand out. It’s very good but not a barn burner.

Because it is too focused on paying homage to some well known Hitchcock films and because the narrative tries to mirror the works it is inspired by, Still of the Night feels like a fan-fiction of the British director.

Don’t know how you waste Meryl Streep but someone found a way.

Roy Schieder? Meryl Streep? Yes please. Interesting thriller, if not a little predictable. Meryl Streep is gorgeous in it and Roy Schieder is his Roy Schiederest. It’s not exactly groundbreaking or shocking but these two have a nice chemistry together. Worth a watch.
