❝Be good to him and he'll be good to you. Be bad to him and...❞

The Boy isn't great, but it's not bad, either. It does a good job of building suspense and a couple of the jumpscares are effective, but the story, while engaging, is revealed very slowly and bit by bit, which makes one almost lose interest. I also thought that the film got much scarier after the big plot twist, rather than the 'hauntings' of the doll. It helped that Brahms' actor was so hairy and dirty, and the fact in that section of the film, the spaces inside the house become much more restricted, which adds so much tension. I don't think I'd watch this again on my own, but it might be fun with other people.
