By an act of what I can only describe as fate, I stumbled upon a movie on cable (TNT, to be precise) and absolutely loved it. I didn't know the name, it had Ione Skye -from another favorite of mine, Say Anything. Of course, Jen Aniston was also in it, it had a pretty cute male protagonist with a very 90s boy band haircut but I didn't know anything else. I watched it, loved it and just didn't think too much of it - mind you, these were the days where I didn't have internet at all times to my disposal and I couldn't just Google it.
Cut to, IDK, 20 years later (give or take) and I'm looking for free movies to watch in free streaming services and what do I find? Dream for an insomniac. That's the name, this is that movie. And once again I was completely in love by it. Some people might bring it down by saying the main couple is just pretentious and "not really" how people talk in real life but I don't care. It was the 90s, writers were writing characters who could quote philosophers and pop culture references at the drop of a hat. The moment the black and white turns technicolor by the sight of his blue eyes? That's cinema✨
Also, I would love to have a remake with Jeremy Allen White because if someone's baby blues can turn a b&w world into technicolor, they're the ones for the job.
